- Website Analysis (for existing sites): In-depth analysis of the client's site, business and target audience.
- Keyword Targeting: Identify, compare and select the most appropriate keywords and phrases. Keyword optimization includes analysis of competitor's websites, meta tags, keywords/phrases and content.
- Meta Tag & Copy Optimization: Meta tags are generated based on the selected key word/phrases and placed on the pages of the client's website. Well written, relevant copy is very important.
- Site Maps: A Sitemap is an XML file that lists URL's for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is relative to other URL's in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site.
- Search Engine Friendly URL's: Generally this is a relevant (keyword specific) URL that is human readable.
- Code Optimization: The underlying HTML/CSS code of your site should be XHTML (for best results) and pass W3C Validation.
- Web Page Submission: Optimized web pages are submitted to leading search engines and directories.
- Link Optimization: While it is good to have inbound links, search engines such as Google frown on "link buying" techniques used by some SEO firms. Link optimization should be done with care.
